Working Group on Cultural Diversity and Globalization
The Working Group on Cultural Diversity and Globalization, chaired by
Canada, provides Network Ministers with advice and concrete proposals
on how to advance their cultural policies regarding cultural diversity,
at both the national and international levels. This is particularly important
in an era of globalization, trade liberalization and rapid technological
development. The activities of this group are based on a decision taken
by Ministers at their Oaxaca meeting in September 1999 and the mandate
has been renewed each subsequent year.
