This session will provide participants with an overview of the INCP and its activities, both past and present.

  • Introduction – Artur Wilczynski, Chair of the Working Group on Cultural Diversity and Globalization (WGCD&G)
  • Presentation on the INCP – Julie Boyer, Director, Liaison Bureau
  • Review of work of WGCD&G – Artur Wilczynski, Chair of WGCD&G
  • Questions and answers on work of INCP

This session will be dedicated to discussing the value of informal exchanges between Ministries of Culture at both the officials-level and at the ministerial level including a discussion on possible areas of mutual interest where information-sharing would prove to be useful.

This facilitated dialogue will allow participants the opportunity to share national experiences in fostering and promoting culture, cultural expressions, and cultural industries.

11:15 – 12:30 Roundtable on National Cultural Policy Frameworks (continued)

12:30 – 14:00 Buffet Lunch at Canada Pavilion

14:00 – 15:45 Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions:  Update followed by Roundtable

This session, facilitated by the Chair of the WGCD&G, will allow participants to informally exchange views on the UNESCO Convention, progress to date, and strategies for the UNESCO General Conference.
