Working Group on Broadcasting in the Global Environment
The Working Group on Broadcasting in the Global Environment, chaired
by Italy, provides INCP Ministers with advice and concrete proposals
on how to address the principal challenges facing the broadcasting
sector in an era of globalization, convergence and rapid technological
change. Particular interests of the Working Group are models of
sustainable communication, the role of public service broadcasters,
bringing local content to international audiences, and the impact
of the international trade agenda on broadcasting and cultural policy.
The Working Group was launched on March 12, 2001 in Rome.
