Working Group on Broadcasting in the Global Environment

Meeting Objectives:

1-Share understanding of the impact of key challenges facing broadcasting
in a global environment with special attention to:

  • global trends of broadcasting and cultural diversity;
  • new network technologies;
  • reach of local content;
  • industry restructuring;
  • the implications of the above-mentioned global trends on the future role of cultural and media policy instruments

2- Develop a work plan for future meetings of the group in order to
prepare a report for the INCP Ministerial Meeting in Lucerne, Switzerland (September 2001)
